Dell XPS 15z

Want a notebook for around 1000$ and one which is full  of features and has a good hardware, then you are looking at the right thing. The Dell XPS 15z is a 15.6'' multimedia notebook computer. In terms of internal components it is almost identical to the XPS 15. It is equipped with up to 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and Nvidia GeForce GT525 with Optimus technology.
The main differences between the two models are their external design; the XPS 15z has a lighter colour scheme. It is also thinner and lighter than the original XPS 15. In true, Dell had created the 15z as a direct competitor to Apple's MacBook Pro 15 notebook. They feature similar styling up to the keyboard and speakers. Other features include a backlit keyboard, Full HD 1080p display, and a 8 cell lithium polymer battery that provides up to 8 hours of battery life. The Dell XPS 15z is a good option for buyers looking for a stylish and portable notebook computer that packs good performance.

What I liked ?
Affordable starting price point next to the competition.
Super-bright (300-nit) 1080p display option (selected on higher-priced builds)
Much thinner than the majority of 15" laptops - essentially the same as the MacBook Pro
Solid, aesthetically pleasing aluminum/magnesium alloy construction
Impressive speakers next to the majority of other laptops (although they lack bass.
Powerful hardware - Core i5/i7 processors, Optimus NVIDIA GeForce GT525M with 1GB of dedicated VRAM, 6-8GB of DDR3 memory.

What I dint like ?
Poor battery life - under 5 hours, far short of Dell's claimed 8

Overall this is a great buy in my book as it gives great value for money. So go an get it if you are looking for a 15 inch above avarage laptop that looks really good.
